We are happy to reveal the cover art for BOYS IN THE BACKROOM!
The official Single digital release is set on March 3. Pre-order on iTunes beginning February 24.
The cover art is taken from the 2017 Oil on Canvas painting by Mark Villanueva entitled “Public Farm, Animal Office.” Bulacan-based Mark Villanueva works full time in visual art, part time in music, and as a constant explorer of collaborations in these disciplines of art.

We are excited to give you all a taste of what is to come in the new album that we will be working on this year. Leading us to expedite the arrangement and recording of a new song called “BOYS IN THE BACKROOM.” After a couple of rehearsals, we scheduled a whole-day recording session on the 24th of January at Sonic State Audio with their usual suspects of producers and engineers guilty behind the recordings of all Camerawalls releases. The result is quite unexpected, a striking new dish on our menu!
Tell us what you think by tuning in to JAM 88.3 on Monday, February 6 at 4:30PM for the Single Premier and on Tuesday, February 7, 4PM onwards for a live interview and performance to talk about the making of the single and our upcoming concert in Music Museum on March 15.
Tickets to ABOVE THE WEATHER, the first major concert of The Camerawalls (with Bryan Estepa and a 16-piece String Orchestra) is available at Music Museum Ticketron, Jorge’s Portrait Studio, and online at http://thecamerawalls.eventbrite.com.

Hello! We have a lot of great news to report since our last update. First, we welcome guitarist Venj Gatmaitan to the band! He is a very talented musician and we are very happy for him to join us! This decision came shortly after our first comeback gig at 70s Bistro last December 10 where we invited him to session for us on lead guitars.
Incidentally, Venj happens to be one of the collaborators in my solo project Dragonfly Collector where he did excellent work on electric and upright bass guitars on all the recorded tracks. You will soon hear his contribution to The Camerawalls in the new single we are working on.
We are hitting the studio this week to record a brand new single with the working title “Boys In The Backroom.” Expect it to drop sometime on February with a grittier sound and approach to songwriting.

2017 will prove to be an important year for us not only with our comeback in the music scene, or a planned single release, but more so with a major concert that will happen on March 15 at the Music Museum. Hear our modest catalog of songs reimagined live and arranged with a 16-piece String Orchestra! A milestone in the making!

Aptly titled “Above The Weather” and with reference to sociopolitical upheaval, we wish to remain incessantly positive despite of everything and literally face the music instead.
Independently produced by Lilystars Records, this concert will also feature Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter Bryan Estepa, our brother musician from the label with a new album under his belt entitled “Every Little Thing” as part of his Philippine tour.
We also recently released a 2016 Remastered Edition CDs of our 2008 debut album “Pocket Guide To The Otherworld” and as a treat, signed copies will be given away for free to the first 30 ticket buyers. Early bird tickets are now available online at http://thecamerawalls.eventbrite.com.

And so it happened. It was partly intimate, partly nostalgic. It also felt like the four-year inactivity never happened. A little rusty yes, but nothing a few immersion in our rehearsal space can't fix. But most importantly, we had fun. Seeing old friends/fans (some of them flew to Manila), brother bands who supported, meant a lot to us. We played to a full house despite the busy December weekend. And we debuted a new guitarist (who is actually the bassist of Dragonfly Collector) to back us up, after learning my guitar stylings as well as that of Johnny Marr's with only a few weeks notice. It was indeed a wonderful evening and we are really glad to be back.
